Redefining the Creation/Evolution Controversy
Church of the Green Wood participates in Evolution Weekend activities associated with the Clergy Letter Project. The Project exists to show that science and religion are compatible and to encourage intelligent debate about the issue. Read founder Michael Zimmerman's article here.

For all of the effort that couples put into planning their weddings, not enough seem to do the work of planning their marriages. After the party and the cake and the flowers have faded, the rest of life begins. There are websites like this one designed to convince people (particularly American men, apparently) not to marry, and then there are ones like this, to help couples stay together. I salute those who make and keep the commitment. Here's to a long and happy life together!

It's almost summer and we are enjoying the beautiful blooms around Greenwood. It's the perfect time of year for an outdoor wedding. Regardless of your budget, Dahlonega is home to many beautiful sites. If you are planning a wedding on the cheap, consider a waterfall wedding at one of the many state parks or national forest sites in the area. JJ Anthony is a local photographer whose wonderful website identifies many local waterfalls. If you are considering a more elaborate event, local wineries such as Frogtown Winery and Wolf Mountain Vineyards offer gorgeous facilities, stunning views, and superb catering.

new year at church of the green wood
I performed my first webcam wedding today, transmitted live to France and the Phillipines. The worldwide watchers joined in through instant messaging. It's a small world after all...
We've promised to schedule more meetings of the COTGW this year. So far plans include a trip to the Ocmulgee Mounds and completion of the seven circuit labyrinth.
COTGW is collecting money to sponsor the heiferproject.org this year. Use the link at http://churchofthegreenwood.org to donate.
Remember the lesson of the strawberry: be sweet and harbor no hardness in your heart!
